Neumont Granted Accreditation by Accrediting Commission for Career Schools and Colleges

Neumont University

Neumont College of Computer Science is pleased to announce they have been granted accreditation by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC). ACCSC’s accreditation is effective immediately and is granted for a four-year term.

Neumont President Aaron Reed, Ed.D. said, “We are proud to join a class of prestigious institutions affiliated with and accredited by ACCSC. The commission’s rigorous standards are perfectly aligned with our own institutional goals of continual improvement.”

Reed echoed ACCSC’s mission to provide an accountable framework for institutions that first and foremost seek to offer well-developed programs that prepare students for their chosen field of work. He also noted that ACCSC requires institutions to continually demonstrate their commitment to meeting established program objectives.

“What this accreditation provides,” Reed explained, “is a framework of accountability. Neumont has long prided itself on helping students be career-ready at graduation. Ultimately, our vision is to change lives through education. Part of our process is getting feedback from employers to make sure our grads are ready to hit the ground running. Adhering to ACCSC’s rigorous requirements helps us ensure we’re meeting the needs of both students and the tech community.”

ACCSC standards note that although the initial term of accreditation through the commission is typically three years, a four-year term may be granted in exceptional cases. The four-year grant awarded to Neumont reflects the institution’s history of high standards and stellar student outcomes.

ACCSC’s scope of recognition with the U.S. Department of Education includes the accreditation of postsecondary, non-degree-granting institutions and degree-granting institutions that are predominantly organized to educate students for occupational, trade and technical careers.
