Neumont's Top 10 Reasons to Visit During FReX

Neumont College of Computer Science

Neumont's Accepted Student Weekend is April 6-7, 2018! Each year, students who are considering attending the computer science-focused college are invited to attend a two-day event to experience life as a freshman. This year is no exception. Below are the top 10 reasons why students from across the country choose to spend a weekend in Salt Lake City.

  1. Get to know other future students: One of the best parts of FReX is getting to meet other future students. You’ll fit right in with other students with similar interests and hobbies. It’s also a good way to connect with future roommates.
  2. See what Salt Lake City has to offer: Nestled in downtown Salt Lake City, the Neumont campus is surrounded by concert venues, museums, movie theaters and everything a student could want to keep busy. During your visit, you’ll have an opportunity to explore Salt Lake using TRAX, Utah’s public transit light rail system.
  3. Explore the campus: On Friday afternoon you’ll get to explore Neumont’s campus. We’re housed in a historic 12-story historic building renovated to create a modern learning environment.
  4. Go for a test drive: One of the best ways to find out if any college, and especially Neumont, is a good fit is to visit in person. FReX is the best way for accepted students to find out how they’ll fit in here. This event hits the sweet spot between informative and fun to help you make the best decision.
  5. Get to know current students: See current Neumont students in their natural environment. See student project work, game the night away, and chat with current students. You may even meet your new best friend. It’s been known to happen.
  6. Observe project- and problem-based learning: You’ve heard us talk about Neumont’s special sauce of project- and problem-based learning, now check it out in action. Visitors will get to see some of the best student project work at Project Showcase Prime. This hands-on experience will give you and your parents a chance to see what sort of projects our students get to work on from day one.
  7. Game on: The highlight of FReX for many accepted students is our Student Social on Friday night. This all-things-game event features everything from console to table-top to RPGs. There will be plenty of food and drink to fuel an evening of fun.
  8. Tour student housing: Visitors will have an opportunity to tour a student apartment, meet with Resident Advisors and ask questions of the Student Affairs staff.
  9. Take advantage of our complimentary hotel offer:* We’re excited to show Neumont in person, which is why we offer our accepted students and their parent(s)/guardian(s) or spouse a complimentary hotel room for up to two nights. We’ll also provide meals during the event. We hope you’ll take us up on this one-time offer; we’re excited to have you visit our campus.
  10. Ask away: Find answers to all of your burning college-related questions. Visitors will enjoy a Q&A Session with alumni . You’ll also have opportunities to speak with key members of faculty and staff. We recommend jotting down your questions in advance to make sure you walk away with all the answers you need.
