Neumont College of Computer Science was founded in Salt Lake City, Utah in 2003, to fill the growing national demand for industry-ready technology professionals by offering bachelor’s degree in three years that immerses students in a rigorous, project-based curriculum. This blog serves as a platform to publish and share, news, reviews, and stories from Utah's best kept tech secret.

Tech Talks, Interviews, and Career Fair

Neumont University

Each quarter, Neumont Univeristy hosts a Career Week where local and national companies bring their software developers and hiring managers to campus.

Typically our industry partners present Tech Talks for our students to learn about the company, trends in the tech industry, and meet future employers. Most Tech Talks are about 45 minutes long and include a lunch for students. We keep the Tech Talks small, so the students and industry partners can get to know each other. You can watch some past Tech Talks on our YouTube channel if you would like to see presentations from companies like Workfront and Sony Santa Monica.

All week long, students nearing graduation interview with companies currently looking to fill their ranks with some of the best software developers out there. (We might be a bit biased.) This last quarter, 75 seniors were interviewed for potential jobs. These students work closely with our Career Services Manager to refine their resumes, develop a strong online presence, and improve their interview skills.

Finally once a year, we invite companies to participate in a Career Fair. At the Career Fair, students from all cohorts are encouraged to make connections with our industry partners. Students share their resumes and introduce themselves to hiring managers from all kinds of companies from across the nation with differing technical needs. Freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors connect with companies who may hire them in the future in a comfortable environment.

And yes, there's even more free food at Career Fair.
