Salt Lake City knows how to holiday. With light shows, Christmas carol sing-alongs, Santa sightings, and special dance performances, there’s plenty to do to get you in the holiday spirit after a tough week of finals. Our students have already ice skated at Gallivan Plaza and strolled downtown to see the holiday lights, so we listed a few more of our favorite local traditions below.
Where: Utah’s Hogle Zoo
When: Evenings until December 31, 2015
Tickets are $7. ZooLights! returns to Hogle Zoo every holiday season, with more than 250 animated light displays. Grab your hologram glasses to walk along lit pathways and through our popular 135-foot lighted tunnel – it’s a crowd favorite! Get up close with a polar bear, grizzlies, seals, and sea lions in the heated underwater viewing building in Rocky Shores.

Where: Broadway Centre Cinemas
When: Saturday, December 12 at 9 a.m.
Join in on the Salt Lake Film Society holiday tradition. Start the fun at 9 a.m. with your own waffle and wassail, meet Santa, and watch a holiday family film at 10 a.m.. The event is free.
What: Holiday Bazaar
Where: Urban Arts Gallery
When: December 12-13, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Local artists sell their work at the Urban Arts Gallery for two weekends in December. Funky Santa will be there on Saturday, December 12, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. for photos. Find unique gift items and artwork for friends and family this holiday season.
Where: Vivint Smart Home Arena
When: Monday, December 14, doors Open at 5:30 p.m. The sing-along begins at 7 p.m.
This event is free and open to the public. Join the Larry H. Miller Family and Robert C. Bowden in celebrating the sights and sounds of Christmas at this fun-filled community event! Sing holiday favorites accompanied by a 30-piece orchestra and listen to featured performances by Pearl Award-winning band Joshua Creek. Local TV personality Big Buddha will emcee, with special appearances by Santa and the Jazz Bear. FREE parking is available, and guests will receive a special Larry H. Miller Group gift package and holiday treat (while supplies last).

When: Saturday, December 19, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Pick up handmade local arts and crafts for friends and family this holiday season. Taste food from local farmers, food purveyors, and food trucks. And hear local music.
